Hand rolled mantı dumplings with double fermented yoghurt (dumplings arrive raw & frozen, ready to be cooked)

A classic staple of Turkish cuisine with our vegetarian twist: dried aubergine or beef dumplings served with a double fermented and spicy yoghurt sauce.

Frozen dumplings, chilled sauce

Re-heating the sauce from chilled - Hob

  •  Transfer the yoghurt sauce into a saucepan.
  • Heat gently over a low heat, stirring occasionally
  • Do not allow to boil
  • Set aside, lid on to prevent the sauce from thickening

 Cooking and serving the dumplings

  • Bring 2.5 litres of unsalted water to the boil in a large pan
  • Add the frozen dumplings, keeping the heat on high
  • Stir gently to separate the dumplings
  • The dumplings are cooked when they start floating – approximately 4-5 minutes
  • Strain the dumplings and add to the preheated yoghurt sauce
  • Mix gently
  • Serve immediately
